My Review of Costco’s Chicken and Waffles Meal Kit

Costco has added a new prepared meal to the deli refrigerated section: the Chicken and Waffle Meal Kit. I decided to pick one up, and it turned out to be a hit at home, especially with my son, who wanted to eat it the moment he saw it. In this review, I’ll cover what comes in the kit, how to cook it, and whether it’s worth the price.

What’s Included

The kit costs $17 and includes four Belgian-style waffles, four pieces of fried chicken, a packet of maple syrup, and a hot honey dipping sauce.

It’s designed to feed two hungry adults with two waffles and two pieces of chicken each, or it can stretch to three smaller servings if you split things up. At just under six dollars per serving, it’s a cost-effective way to enjoy a comfort-food favorite without going to a restaurant.

How to Cook It

Cooking is simple and requires very little time. I air fried the chicken until it was hot and crispy, and the waffles warmed up perfectly in the microwave. You can drizzle everything with maple syrup for a classic pairing or add the hot honey if you like a sweet and spicy kick.

The whole meal goes from fridge to table in about fifteen minutes, which makes it a great option for busy nights.

Taste Test

Taste wise, I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken is boneless, which I wasn’t expecting, and that made it easier to eat and more enjoyable overall.

Once air-fried, the chicken had a crispy golden coating and a juicy interior. The waffles were soft and paired nicely with the maple syrup. We loved dipping the chicken in the hot honey.

Allergy Information

My son has peanut and tree nut allergies, so I carefully check labels before bringing home anything new. I was happy to see that the Costco Chicken and Waffle Meal Kit was safe for him to eat.

There are no peanuts or tree nuts listed in the ingredients, and he enjoyed the meal without any issues. Of course, I still recommend checking the packaging at your local Costco since ingredients and suppliers can change. Plus, there is always a chance of cross contamination.

Price and Value

Costco’s Chicken and Waffles Kit is $6.99 a pound which comes out to around $17 for a meal kit. At $17 for the Chicken and Waffles meal kit that can feed 3 people, the value is hard to beat.

Ordering chicken and waffles at a restaurant can easily cost double the price per serving, and cooking fried chicken from scratch takes a lot more effort and cleanup. Costco’s version offers convenience and quality at a very fair price point.

Who Will Enjoy It

This meal kit is a great choice for families looking for a quick and kid-friendly dinner, for anyone who loves comfort food, and for busy evenings when you don’t have the time to cook from scratch. If you’re feeding a larger family you might want to grab two kits, but for a smaller household it’s just the right size.

Overall, the Costco Chicken and Waffle Meal Kit exceeded my expectations. It’s delicious, affordable, and convenient, with everything you need included in the package. The fact that it was safe for my son, who has peanut and tree nut allergies, gave me extra peace of mind. He loved it, I loved it, and it’s definitely something I would buy again the next time I go to Costco.
