My Review of Costco’s Fried Chicken and Mashed Potatoes Meal
Costco has a new meal in their prepared foods section—and if you love comfort food, you’re going to want to check this one out.
Their new Fried Chicken and Yukon Mashed Potatoes meal is an easy comfort food for a no-fuss family dinner.
I picked this up recently, and I was impressed. The fried chicken is delicious and crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside—everything you want from a good piece of fried chicken.

My son loves it, which says a lot, because he can be picky. I’m adding it to my repertoire of Costco meals I know I can count on when I don’t feel like cooking.
The mashed potatoes are made with Yukon Golds, and they’re creamy, buttery, and delicious. They reminded me a lot of the mashed potatoes that come in Costco’s meatloaf meal—which are also a favorite in our house.
If you’ve had those before, you know what to expect: smooth, creamy mashed potatoes.
To reheat, I like to air fry the fried chicken to bring back that crispy texture—it only takes a few minutes and makes a big difference.
For the mashed potatoes, I use the convection oven, which keeps them soft and evenly heated without drying out. Together, they make a warm, home-style dinner with very little effort.
The whole meal costs $16 ($4.99 a pound), which I think is a really good deal considering the portion size.
It easily feeds three people, and possibly four if you add a side salad or a veggie (like Costco’s broccoli salad with walnuts). It’s perfect for busy weeknights, or even as a casual weekend dinner when you’re too lazy to cook.
If you see the Fried Chicken and Mashed Potatoes meal at your Costco, definitely give it a try. It’s classic comfort food, family-approved, and a smart buy for an easy and delicious meal.
