Super Easy Crispy Air-Fry Tofu Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 block 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Garlic powder

Instructions
 

Prep the Tofu:

  • Press the tofu to remove excess water. Place the tofu in a clean kitchen towel and set a heavy object on top for 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, use a tofu press.
  • Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or slices.

Season the Tofu:

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Toss the tofu cubes gently to coat them evenly.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss again for an extra crispy texture.

Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 3 minutes.

Cook the Tofu:

  • Place the tofu pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
  • Air-fry for 16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the tofu is golden and crispy.

Serve:

  • Enjoy the tofu on its own, to make it spicy add chili sauce! It's great over rice.
