Arroz ala Cubana Recipe Tips

Arroz ala Cubana
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 cup Frozen Peas
- 1/2 cup Frozen Carrots
- 1/2 cup Raisins
- 4 Plantains
- 4 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- Olive Oil
Instructions
Ground Beef
- Drizzle pan with olive oil. Saute onion until transclucent. Add garlic and saute
- Add ground beef and saute the ground beef
- Add soy sauce, salt and diced tomatoes to the ground beef. You should taste the beef as you cook and adjust the salt as needed.
- Add peans and carrots (minced) to the ground beef. If you use frozen vegetables, let it cook a little longer.
- Add raisins to the ground beef
- Saute the ground beef. Keep sauteing your ground beef until it develops a brown color. You want to sear your ground beef until it turns golden brown. This is what makes it taste so good. Be patient. It takes longer than you think to get these beautiful brown bits. Make sure to keep an eye on it because you can burn your beef.
Plantains
- Slice plantains into round "coins"
- Add sugar to a mixing bowl and coat the plantains with sugar
- Fry the plantains with olive oil until golden brown
